Our paint system would not be complete without the Special FX metallics, basecoats, pearls and flakes. With E’tac there are no constricting rules since you are already working with the base ingredients anyway so everything is possible. The entire series of FX base ingredients can be used throughout our range of EFX or Private Stock colors.
You can choose for the pure Special FX product as a powder. For those who don’t want to work with concentrated powders, we would recommend the Private Stock Special FX bases. These are the same Special FX powders, the only difference is that the are pre-mixed in a Private Stock solution.
All these products can be mixed in directly with our transparent colors. They can also be sprayed over transparent or opaque colors to obtain dazzling Special FX. Artists will appreciate how easily these fine powders incorporate as a stir in product that readily disperses with very little energy, simple mixing is all that is needed. These pigments are non-toxic and non-reactive which means they can be incorporated into virtually any solvent, water, powder coating, inks and plastics. 1 ounce (30 ml) will produce up to 16oz (240 ml) of FX color or more based on your usage.
- Note: When working on non-absorbent surfaces you can apply these products at whatever rate visually appeals to you. Remember, sometimes less is more. For example, a very light application of pearls on a black or otherwise colored background can produce very subtle but nonetheless stunning effects.
- Some advice: don’t use these FX pigments together with very fine airbrushes. Generally speaking it would be a good idea to use a different airbrush or spray gun for these types of pigments altogether.
